Kim Delaney, an American actress best known as detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is famous for playing Detective Diane Russell on ABC's series NYPD Blue. The actress also starred on the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. Although she was a child with a aspiration to become a journalist, it wasn't until high school that she began modeling. When she moved from New York City and gaining an experience working in commercials at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. She starred in 1981 as an innocent teen in the film All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years who was in her 20s, appeared in numerous TV shows and in dramas. Her professional career has been much more lucrative than her personal life. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcoholism. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
